Thank you to everyone who contributed! I have learned the p1000 is heavy and hard to use as a point-and-shoot camera. I don't have a tripod, and it's hard to always have one with me when an opportunity shows up.

I've read many reviews, and the difference between the p900 and p1000 regarding overall zoom capabilities and durability isn't worth the price.

The prize pool hasn't filled yet, and it's been about a year of waiting, so I have decided to buy a p900 that I found online for 950$. P1000 is around 16-1700 after shipping. The P1000 I purchased came with a solar filter and memory cards, so I think it was a good price.

I will stop this accepting money with this prize pool and use the extra $275 however you guys would like.

1) I can select from the donators randomly and give the total $275

2) I could give it all to the highest donator.

3) I could divide it evenly amongst all.

4) I could have a challenge and have the winner receive it.

5) I could use it to buy a tripod or other accessories.

I'll let you all decide what you would prefer :)
