Camera Nest Egg

Hello, friends!

My birthday is coming up this month! And this year, I am humbly requesting small donations towards pursuing a passion which has become rekindled in this long, painful year.

This year, I have been (at times) rendered speechless in horror at the leviathan forces working in our world. I have found comfort in turning my gaze downward to the order and beauty of small things: blossoms, blades and the ones that live among them.

This has led to a kind of personal renaissance: I am swept up in a creative chaos of pens and paper and pigments which I have hardly felt once in the last 10 years! And I have been learning to capture good images with a lens, something I have never invested much work into until now.

I have been amazed and delighted by the quality of photos I am able create with just an iPhone and Photoshop! However, I want to begin learning to use a real camera. Pulling together a few hundred dollars to invest in just a body and a single lens or two is very daunting and feels virtually impossible.

I have never really done this before, but for my birthday I am asking any of my friends and loved ones who are able: please chip in a few dollars towards a nest egg I can grow to meet my goal and pursue this creative outlet more fully!

tl;dr version: For my birthday this year, I would like to start saving for a good camera! Any of my friends and family who can donate a few dollars towards my nest egg will have my deep, heartfelt appreciation.
