Calvin’s legacy: Reuniting family

The recent and sudden death of Calvin Smith awakens urgency within our family to reunite and spend time together. The hurdles are distance and funds since we live on different continents. Please help us travel in order to comfort Mom and hold a memorial for Calvin!
Calvin’s two grandsons, Tristan (14) and Corbin (11) were born in Berlin, Germany after I moved here in 1996. My name is Melissa Cosby-Fischbeck and as a single Mom the €2700 we will need for flights and rental car seem like an impossible hurdle. My ex-husband, who is also deeply saddened by Calvin’s death, is willing to pitch in, but it’s just not enough. My mom, Elizabeth Forbes-Smith in Hoquiam, Washington suffers the most from Calvin’s passing, but she also has serious health issues. This makes my desire to get to Washington State even more urgent. Our goal is to visit Mom during the first half of October 2019!
Miracles happen and I believe we can meet this goal together. I am always thankful for any tokens of kindness from friends, family and strangers. As a Midwesterner, it’s hard for me to ask for contributions. As a single mom, I know the value of every hard-earned dollar. I promise to keep our supporters posted on prices, travel plans and good news along the way.
My dad, Michael. C. Cosby of Hanover, Indiana is also always in our thoughts since we love him and he is limited more and more by Kennedy’s disease. We want to keep our long-standing promise to him to visit in Spring of 2020 no matter what! If donations exceed our goal or can be saved through good deals and small miracles, they will be used to visit Dad, Terri and all of our relatives in Indiana and northern Kentucky. Family is important and Calvin’s legacy will be reuniting family!

Der plötzichen Tod von mein Stiefvater, Calvin Smith am 8. August erweckt in uns ein dringendes Bedürfnis unseren Familie in den USA so schnell wie möglich zu sehen und meiner Mutter Trost zu spenden. Die Hürden, die uns im Weg stehen sind für mich als alleinerziehende Mutter nicht nur Distanz sondern vor allem Geld. Bitte hilf uns nach Bundesstaat Washington zu fliegen und mit meiner Mutter im Kleinstadt Hoquiam Calvin zu gedenken.
Für Flüge für 3 Personen ein Mietwagen und Spritkosten brauchen wir ca. €2700 insgesamt. Ich bin zu tiefst Dankbar für jede Unterstützung! Über Flügpreise, Angebote und gute Nachrichten halte ich euch auf dem Laufenden. Falls Geld unerwartet übrig bleiben soll, wird es aufgespart für unseren Besuch bei meinem Papa in Hanover, Indiana. Er leidet zunehmend unter Einschränkungen durch Kennedys Disease. Wir wollen trotz den aktuellen Notfall unsere Versprechen an ihn halten im Frühling 2020 ihm in Hanover, Indiana zu besuchen. Denn der Tod Calvins hat uns gelehrt, dass wir nicht lange auf Erde sind und Verbindung zu Familie unendlich wichtig ist. Das ist sein Nachlass an uns!
