Calvert Street Green - An Urban Oasis at Calvert & 26th Streets

Around the corner from the highly popular 26th Sreet Green is the Calvert Street Green, Charles Village's newest community welcoming space. Over nearly three years, grantmakers, GoFundMe donors, artisans and a cadre of dedicated community volunteers reclaimed and transformed this neglected CSX Railroad property.

The result is a relaxed gathering space where children can safely watch the freight trains, walkers can pause to enjoy the park-like setting, and visitors can learn about Baltimore's unique role in railroading history and innovation.

We are asking for the community's continued help in raising funds committed to the maintenance and upkeep of this urban oasis. Volunteers maintain the space, but we are dependent on community funding for landscaping materials, paint and repairs. Your donations, no matter how small, will help ensure that Calvert Street Green remains a valued community asset.
