Callum's Hero Arm dream

Hi I’m Callum and I was born without my left hand. I have decided to set up this crowdfunding page because I have come across The Hero Arm which is an incredible bionic arm that not only helps with everyday tasks but celebrates who you are as a person too and I love that. 

I contacted Open Bionics and their charity, The Open Bionics Foundation has offered to support me with 50% of funding if I can fund the rest by March. So I’m on a mission and ask if you could please join me and help me get my new prosthetic hand.

It would make such a difference in my life to finally be able to show off my awesome arm rather than unknowingly hide it. When I was little that is what I learned to do. I moved house a lot, so that meant that I also moved schools a lot, and being a child with a limb difference, that was hard, because every time I joined a new school I always had to not only introduce myself but also explain why I was different to every new person I met. This can get very overwhelming as you could imagine.



I have tried other prosthetics growing up but found them completely useless but when I saw the Hero Arm and how other people were using it I thought this is the one for me.



I absolutely love my job - I work in a supermarket and would love one day to move up in the company and become a manager. I think having a Hero Arm would certainly help me with that role and give me the confidence to just do it! Being a manager is a very sociable role and I know if I was wearing the Hero Arm I would feel empowered and I could be that guy! 



I want to be Callum with the amazing cool bionic arm not Callum the guy with no hand. While I’m on the road of chasing this dream The Hero Arm would help me with everyday tasks, especially at work where I do a lot of pushing and pulling and lifting. Daily tasks that other people just take for granted that they can do.
