What does this mean? Callie will be born at Riverside Hospital and after delivery she will receive IV medication through her umbilical cord to keep the oxygenated blood in her body flowing. Shortly after delivery (1-2 hours) she will be transferred to Nationwide Children’s Hospital. Provided there are no complications Callie will have a procedure 4-7 days after she is born. During this procedure they will make a small incision in her chest. They will place a stint in her heart where they need a valve to stay open. After she recovers from this she will get to come home!
At 4-6 months Callie will be heading back to Nationwide Children’s for her first open heart surgery. She will then have to have another open heart surgery between the ages of 2-4.
The funds generated will be given to Kristen and Cameron to support Callie on her journey. Through this journey please keep Callie, Kristen, Cameron, and Kyden in your prayers. Thank you for the support.
