Cali was rescued from Naples humane society by recent college grad Ali August in late 2016. Cali was severely underweight, covered in mites and extremely shy; this, however, did not stop Ali from loving her and giving her everything a dog could imagine. Soon after being taken home Cali opened up and started to shine, being an Australian Shepard and Corgi mix Cali loved to herd ducks, play frisbee and even herd her mom when she wasn't walking fast enough to fill her food bowl in the early mornings. Sadly at only a year and a half poor Cali tore her ACL playing fetch in the front yard. A once happy, playful, energetic dog with a contagious smile(she literally smiles ALL THE TIME) now grovels in pain and can hardly walk to her much-beloved food bowl in the mornings. Cali's surgery is an estimated total of $2,667.03. Her owner is a 23-year-old college grad who is just starting off in the real world still struggling to pay off student loans let alone vet fees to help her best friend, her furry partner in crime released of her pain. Nothing hurts more than seeing your beloved best friend cry out every time they try to stand up.
**Remember in "I am Legend" how upset we all became when the beloved dog Sam was bit and Will Smith had to take matters into his own hands? No one wants to see their best friend hurt."
Every cent will go to Cali's surgery fees and every cent will help this once happy energetic pup get back to herding the neighborhood ducks.
