<div>I am reaching out in desperation looking for help providing my cat Cali with trauma surgery due to a suspected hit and run. Cali is a 2.5 year old white kitty with beautiful eyes and the sweetest personality. Everyone whose met her has fallen in love. I very much consider her my therapy animal and she is also extremely bonded with my autistic son. We would be absolutely devastated to lose her or her struggle with the long-term effects of not receiving this surgery.

<div>In basics, she has a broken pelvis. Her hip is dislocated from her body and she has several fractures (luxation of the sacroiliac with a broken ischium in 2 places). Originally, I was quoted $15,000 for the surgery on its own. With much research, I have found a doctor who will be able to perform the surgery for $5,500 but does not offer grants or payments, meaning the funds need to be paid on surgery date. The total asking amount is for all bills that have accumulated so far with the vet expenses. As a single mom, these costs are far out of my budget.

<div>If Cali were to not get the surgery, she could struggle with pain, neurological issues, incontinence down the line, walk with a severe limp and so on. While animals are able to recover sometimes from these injuries, the best outcome for a pain-free and long standing life would be to go through with the surgery. The surgeon reccomends this as the best option.

<div>I have one week before the potential surgery date where she will be evaluated again to make sure she is a candidate. However, the longer the wait the higher the chances of complications of surgery.
