Calendar Club in aid of Calpe House

We are 4 friends who will attempt to run a combined total of 1860km during the month of June. Our team: Andrew Yeats, Daniel Benitez, James Noguera and Jamie Robba.

Calpe House provides accommodation for Gibraltar Health Authority Sponsored Patients sent to London for critical medical treatment or care.

The Calendar Club Challenge is simple to explain but extremely difficult to execute. 

For the entire month of June, the challenge requires that each of us individually, and on a daily basis, run the amount of kilometres which correlates with the given day of the month (the indicative format of which is set out in the below snippet for ease of reference):

June 1st = Run 1km
June 2nd = Run 2km
June 15th = Run 15km
June 30th = Run 30km

This totals an aggregate amount of 465km which will be run by each of us.

This is the weekly breakdown:

1st - 7th June = 28km 
8th - 14th June = 77km 
15th - 21st June = 126km 
22nd - 28th June = 175km 
June 29th = 29km 
June 30th = 30km

This includes running a half marathon on Day 21, and additional kilometres everyday thereafter. Although only one of us has ever completed a half marathon prior to this initiative, we will each attempt to run more than 10 half marathons in 10 days at the latter stage of this challenge. In light of the difficulty of this stage of the challenge, this has become known to us as ‘Hell Week’.
