Caleb's Angel Army

It's a Mama's worst nightmare.
Fifteen year old Caleb had been experiencing headaches and severe migraines to the point of vomiting, dizziness and severe anxiety. As any mother would, she took him to the doctor and had him checked out. And when the results came back, the news was grim: he had a brain tumour.
Life began to move very quickly as mother and son were airlifted to Sick Kids Hospital in Toronto, a distance of more than 200kms from home. He was seen by a leading neurosurgeon who was committed to taking out the tumour.
In a matter of days, Caleb had undergone major brain surgery to remove the baseball size tumour and then the wait for pathology began.
Within the span of 72 hours, Caleb's mom received the worst news of her life, that the tumour the surgeon had removed was malignant. Caleb had a cancerous tumour. It's called Medulloblastoma.

Caleb's mom has been a single mom for the past three years. She left her home of a couple decades down in Louisiana to rejoin her extended family in Napanee, Ontario, Canada. The transition from being an American family unit, to a single mom raising her four beautiful kids in the Great White North has been challenging, but she has done it with grace and dignity. But single-parenting comes with it's own set of hardships, and while she has been managing, cancer has created a whole new set of hardships that will make surviving the day-to-day even more difficult.

Caleb will begin his survival journey by enduring 6-weeks of radiation, followed by 13-14 months of chemotherapy. The treatments require Caleb and his Mom to be in Toronto for the first six-weeks and then every six weeks thereafter for chemo. The travel involved, and the expense, and the adjustment of living with the side-effects of chemo will create a financial burden that will create another stress that they shouldn't have to endure.

If you have been following along and wishing you could do something to help or support Caleb and his family, then please consider helping us meet our goal. The above number represents the potential financial need for thirteen months. Whether you are Canadian or American, friend or sympathizer, every dollar helps and every prayer is welcome.

The last thing any family needs to worry about when surviving cancer, is to have to worry about financial support and whether they can keep the lights on.

Become a part of Caleb's Angel Army. Pray. Support. Love...you are all integral to helping Caleb survive this wretched disease!
