Help African Students Finish Classrooms

Donation protected
In July of 2021 a group of educators, volunteers & health professionals (Christina Alexander, Marlene Cuevas,  Terrecia Davis, Hillary Washington, Irma Wilkins, Troi Goins, Samara Towns, Porsha Goins, Brittney Caldwell, Dr. Chantee Earl,  Sonya Clayton,  and Britney Johnson) will be arriving to Press On Academy to spend the week handing out supplies, working with children and shadowing educators. The school is underdeveloped, under resourced and not quite safe for children due to being half constructed. We are working to assist them in completing their building as well as providing learning materials.

(Please read entire story!) Donors of $250 or more will be placed on a marble plaque outside of the school's door to forever memorialize your contribution to these students. Thank you!

I am heading back to Ghana and taking educators/health professionals along with me (Terrica, Marlene, Hillary, Nichelle, LaVette, Sonya, Tasha, Porsha and Precious)! Myself and an amazingly talented group of women are returning to Ghana in July of 2021 and I do not want to return empty handed. Press On Academy has done so well with just the small computer room that I was able to build for them.... I want to continue to give more.

In December of 2020 I fundraised money to complete a computer room for a rural, underprivileged school in Greater Accra. The teachers were having issues teaching the children modern skills without access to technology, and deserved to have resources to assist them in teaching. As a teacher, I understood how hard it must be to have no internet, computers, or access to resources outside of the building. I was able to build the computer room (computers, flooring, window and door installation, etc.) and paint two additional rooms.

The school is not complete. The computer lab is only essentially the beginning. Press on Academy is a private school that is made to service "middle class" workers in Accra, who do not want their children being subjected to the issues that come along with the subpar education that Ghanian public schools give. It is not a public school, therefore there are no state funds available. The school runs solely on tuition from families, but this only gives enough money for the bare minimum.

I am fundraising to assist the school in completing the school. The top floor is open to the elements (no windows, doors, HVAC, bathroom). Students occupy the top floor as well, due to limited space. I asked the owner for a specific layout of expenses. He provided a form that shows me an itemized break down of how much completion will cost. It is $8500 American Dollars. I also want to assist him in furnishing the classrooms with better desks.

Help me help them!
