The story of how God gave us this property is a long one and we will share it in tiny increments so stay tuned. Not only is this our home but we run the ministry out of here. We have offices and housing and teaching space that we use regularly for various mission and mercy activities. As with any building, there are always big things that come up. This big thing is the roof. Despite the original inspection saying it was basically fine, we have had subsequent people encourage us to get a new roof. We plan to have the work done in the Fall of 2015. A new roof is costly and we will adjust our goal amount as we get more estimates. Our house footprint is about 40 feet by 60 feet. There are several sections of almost vertical roof as well as lots of peaks and joins. In short, it is a big and complicated job. That is why the price tag is so high. BTW that $26000 includes $4500 of taxes. Thought you may like a more detailed breakdown.
By combining archaeology work full time though to the end of September, rental income, and art project sales we plan to have $13, 000 . That means we need to fundraise $13, 000. We will leave the goal as the total of $26, 000. Any over and above money that comes in will all be going directly into home repairs and improvements.
Please join with us in prayer and partnership on this step in the journey to care for what God has entrusted to us.
