Cake sale for Long Covid Kids

We are raising money for Long Covid Kids in support of our wonderful and brave niece, Isla, and other children like her.

Long Covid Kids is a charity supporting and representing children with the ongoing effects of long covid (which are numerous), as well as their families and caregivers.

Long Covid Kids are not only supporting children like Isla, but also raising awareness of the symptoms, funding and participating in global research and advocating for children with long covid in the media, on research panels, in parliamentary groups and health organisations.

Isla writes:

Hey I'm Isla, I'm 14 and I have long covid. I got covid in January 2022 and have been ill ever since. Like most people I got covid very lightly and was ill for a couple of days but instead of getting better like most people I got worse and worse. Over 6 weeks of getting iller each week I got to a point where I could barely have a shower, get out of bed and hold a conversation. My main symptoms are chronic fatigue, insomnia, aches and pains, brain fog and sensory overload. Long covid has completely changed everything in my life at the moment, I haven't been to school since January and I am missing out on things that all teens do. Long covid kids have helped and supported us so much, they are an amazing charity. When you donate all the money is going to a really good cause and will help lots of other kids like me.
