Caitlin's Recital for Child Eye Fnd

Tax deductible
Young Artist raising awareness to Children’s Eye Disease

While poor vision due to eye diseases is often thought to primarily affect the older population, children account for almost 10% of the visually impaired: 19 million children worldwide are visually impaired. A variety of conditions are capable of causing vision loss, and many are solely for children: these include Vitamin A deficiency, childhood infections (e.g.measles), ambyopia, strabismus and retinopathy of prematurity. Children affected with visual impairment cause a disproportionately higher impact on society, since the additional resources required to care for them affect their families, communities, schools, and health centers. Many of these diseases can be prevented through early screening, education and treatment.

Caitlin Samson, age 15, will be performing her debut piano recital and showcasing her art exhibit at the Morris Museum on October 13, 2018 to raise awareness of these debilitating conditions.

Please join Caitlin in her efforts to make a difference for these children. Donations will be directly forwarded to Children’s Eye Foundation, an organization which funds research to combat  these eye diseases, and offers support for affected children their families.
