CAIP Conference Emergency Funding for Undergrad Researcher

Hi,

I’m Shantanu Parmar, an undergraduate student at Marwadi University, India, passionate about blending machine learning with astrophotography.

I’m thrilled to share that my research paper, “Evaluating Deep Learning Models for Smartphone Astrophotography,” has been accepted for presentation at the prestigious CAIP 2025 conference in Las Palmas, Spain (September 22–25, 2025). This work aims to make astrophotography accessible to anyone with a smartphone, democratizing space exploration.

Unfortunately, my co-author, who was set to present and had institutional funding, withdrew unexpectedly, leaving me to cover all costs. As a student from India, I face a significant financial hurdle to attend this international stage. I urgently need to raise €1,520 (~$1,581) by July 15, 2025, to secure my spot. This includes:

€360: Budget accommodation (5 nights in a hostel)

€670: Round-trip airfare from India to Gran Canaria
