Cailee's School Trip

My name is Cailee Combs.  I am an eighth grader at Holy Family Catholic School in Hannibal, MO.  A long time ago, my parents made the decision to send me (and my sister) to a private school. Even though we aren’t Catholic, they chose Holy Family Catholic School.  I have really enjoyed my time at Holy Family and can’t believe it’s almost over, but I’m ready to graduate eighth grade and start in public high school!  Over the years, I’ve come to appreciate the sacrifices that my mom and dad have made to ensure that we have a quality, Christian education at Holy Family.  I know now that we don’t have as much money as others and as dad says, “money doesn’t grow on trees.”  But, my parents have taught me valuable lessons in priorities, sacrifice, budgeting and love. 

Now, I’m trying to show them that I have taken those lessons to heart by raising money for a very exciting learning opportunity. 

In Crow Canyon, Colorado, I will have the opportunity to join other classmates on a real archeological dig.  We will have learning experiences as well as real dig time on this week-long adventure!

The estimated cost of the trip will be $1500, and this amount of money can be pretty hard for my parents to get.  Dad told me to sell a kidney!  I think I’m going to try some other ways to raise the money first, though.

I’ve started this Go Fund Me page to ask you, my family and friends to help me get to Crow Canyon, Colorado.  If you can, please consider donating to my cause.  I would love to go on this trip and experience this!  All help and any size donation are appreciated!  I won’t be doing prizes like my dad did with his Go Fund Me page for his album, but if you donate, I’ll give you a hug!!!
