ABOUT CAFFELINE

Caffeline is Nebraska's first cat cafe! It is a non-profit cafe and cat adoption center whose goal is to give Lincoln, Nebraska a push to reach no-kill status. And yes, Caffeline does already have non-profit 501 c(3) status through the IRS and the approval of the Landcaster County Health Department!

Caffeline has partnered with Revolution Rescue to acquire cats from overflowing city shelters and owner surrenders. The cats will have to be chosen based on their ability to thrive in a cafe environment and their ability to get along with other cats. All cats will be spayed, neutered, and vaccinated before making their debut at the cafe. If a cat gets sick or shuts down while at the cafe, we have fosters lined up through Revoltuion Rescue to house them until a forever home is found!

Our coffee will be bought from Dunn Bros Coffee, a coffee franchise that is headquartered in Minnesota. Caffeline will be the first place to serve Dunn Bros Coffee in all of Nebraska!

Caffeline's target market are students at UNL! Students are always looking for an outlet to relieve stress and also miss their pets at home! This cafe will be a perfect place to kick back, hang out with some kitties, and do homework too! We also highly encourage students to take lots of pictures and post as much as they can to social media to help cats get adopted. Students may also be adopters in the future or know people who can adopt now (others who don't live in the dorms of course)!

Caffeline's perfect location is a short walk from campus. We have found multiple locations with a realtor and architect but simply need the funds to lock one of them down.

Money saved at Caffeline will go to building a much larger no-kill shelter in the future, which will go on to save all companion animals.

Caffeline needs $30,000 to secure a building, $30,000 for renovations, and $78,000 for 6 month's capital for a total cost of $138,000.

Our goal is to be open in October!!!

ABOUT THE FOUNDER
Elizabeth (Lizz) Whitacre is a 21 year old student at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Originally from Minnesota, she came to Nebraska for school and is staying much longer due to the strong animal rescue community. She is majoring in Management for Entrepreneurship for Pre-Law and Vet Science for Pre-Vet. She has been in no-kill animal rescue since she was 13 years old and helped run a no-kill shelter in Minnesota as a senior in high school. 2 years ago, going in to sophomore year at UNL, Lizz founded the No Kill Advocacy Club, a student organization at UNL. The No Kill Advocacy Club works with no-kill rescues and organizations by volunteering, fundraising, advertising, and advocating. Shortly after founding that Club, she founded a non-profit organization called Progressive Animal Welfare Rescue (PAWR). PAWR is a no-kill rescue whose goal is to get the nation to no-kill by having a shelter location in every state. PAWR saves all companion animals but is waiting to take in animals until a large building can be built. 2 months ago, she shifted PAWR's focus to starting a cat cafe and has worked hard to come this far in a short time. Lizz Whitacre is an extremely driven, determined, and passionate young lady who will stop at nothing to achieve her goals and save lives.
