"What woke (Jan) Hoyman were multiple “Boom, boom, booms” of propane tanks exploding.
“I heard a roar like a locomotive. Then I began smelling smoke. "   --from her story to the Ukiah Daily Journal.

my sister was having a peaceful night when suddenly the forest fire arrived on her mountain.  she barely got away.   This is in  California 100 mi north of San Francisco, big wine country.   Jan is my sister's name.  she is a long time local potter.
She also did an interview with Amy Goodman on this link
https://www.democracynow.org/2017/10/16/everything_was_on_fire_ca_resident

So, it may be somewhat, if not, alot, embarrassing for her to admit that she had no insurance on the house.  In her  career as a small business potter, many corners had to be cut financially in order to continue the business.

I am Lee Hoyman, retired electrical engineer living in Chicago; and I am appealing to anyone and everyone to help Jan rebuild her house on the mountain in redwood valley by contributing to this fund.  She will have direct access to the fund.   Clearly from the photo, the entire house needs to be rebuilt from scratch.

You can check out her really great work at : http://earthenware.com/

Thank you so much to each and everyone of you who have read this and empathized.
