LET US HELP DREW'S DREAM OF GETTING HIS LIFE BACK!!

Hello all… as if 2020 was not a hard enough year for everybody, on December 5th, somebody very close to so many, Andrew Taylor (Drew, as we affectionately call him), ended up in the Intensive Care Unit, pretty much fighting for his life.  He has been hospitalized since, and has a long road ahead of him.  His pancreas is questionable, his kidneys have shut down, and he is battling internal bleeding. He has undergone numerous tests, many rounds of dialysis as well as plasma pheresis and countless blood transfusions.   His body is having a hard time cooperating and none of his levels are where they need to be.  So, this is on ongoing battle, to say the very least.  If the health issues are not bad enough, his spirits are dwindling which only makes sense. Due to Covid restrictions, he is alone and afraid for his life. His family is doing the best they can to support him from afar, but it is definitely very difficult and trying on everyone.

Every day that he continues to fight is a blessing. Lately it seems we take one step forward and two steps back.  Our hope is that his body will start to function as it should so that we will know he is on the road to recovery.   Andrew has a very long road ahead of him. We don’t know when this will be, but if he becomes stable enough, he will need to be placed in a long term rehab facility as he will, of course, have to continue to be monitored closely.  There is also a very good chance that he will have to continue with the dialysis for the rest of his life or be put on a transplant list.

To all that know Drew, he is the sweetest, most gentle giant you would ever want to meet.  They really do not make many like him.  He is loving, caring, snuggly and just an all-around awesome human being.  Andrew recently graduated from NETTTS. We were so proud of this accomplishment as he was set to start a new job in Texas as a truck driver. He was supposed to leave CT on December 16 to start his new journey.  This is obviously no longer an option, for the time being anyway.

It is at this time, that I ask for help for him.  He is currently without health insurance as he was between jobs, so the timing of this could not have been worse.  Not that there is ever a good time for a health scare like this, but his hospital bills are clearly remarkable and he will also need the long term care when he is finally able to get out of the hospital.  Although he is 27, Drew is Staci’s baby. She should not have to worry about the stress of his financial situation, but she is.  Staci should only have to worry about his health and well being.  No one ever plans for something like this. The bills keep coming, going up exponentially and this a burden that his mother, his family, and all who love him hate to see him have to endure.  Anything that helps to alleviate some of the financial stress would help. We are confident that Andrew would be forever thankful for anything you would be willing to offer.  He is a good boy who asks for nothing.  So, I am asking for him.
