Carlton's Cancer and Cure fund
First, let me say, it is very hard for me to ask for help. And those of you who have talked to me about Carlton, know that he may as well be a saint! He has helped so many people over the many years either at his job or at his church where he has been the minister of music for many years.
My brother, Carlton Mathews, has been battling Multiple Myeloma for the last several months with aggressive chemotherapy and drugs. This is the second time he has been diagnosed with cancer. The first time was in 1999, when he was diagnosed with Testicular cancer. He had immediate surgery, chemo and other treatments to eliminate this horrible disease. Prayers were plentiful and his faith never waivered as he battled this cancer and worked his full time job. He had such a positive attitude and he had the best physicians, nurses and support around. God healed him and he has been cancer free for 15 years. Until now. The doctor told him that he will be going to MUSC for bone marrow/stem cell transplant in September. He will have to be out of work for several months and will not get paid while he is out of work. We need to raise About $10,000 not just for medical copays and housing/food while away from home, but also to pay bills back at home since his wife, Teresa, is unable to work presently and they have 2 boys in college now.
