PTSD/TBI Mobility Service Dog

Donation protected
This campaign is not to get the entire cost associated with getting and training a service dog. It is to get a puppy to bond with and train as a PTSD/TBI service dog that will specifically alert for impending migraines and panic attacks, with long term training and care costs covered by me.  As a backup for vet care, the VA does not actually provide service dogs, but will cover vet care after you have one. My PTSD manifests as agoraphobia, with severe social anxiety and acute anxiety in specific situations (like riding in traffic. Sounds stupid, right?) With the mild TBI, I get migraines be that cause me to go blind in my left eye. Some months I can come go the whole month without a migraine, but progressively I have been been experiencing these migraines almost continually. They can last from 45 minutes to several days at a time, and I have had entire weeks wiped out with them. I also have degenerative disc disorder, which limited my ability to move quickly sometimes, and standing up can be especially hard. A service dog will enable me to first know that an anxiety attack or migraine is eminent, so I can prepare or prevent accordingly, then provide additional assistance with body positioning or retrieval of medication. Mobility assistance but will be slight. My first service dog was given through a veteran's organization that did not properly train and he was not adequately screened for temperament or health. This lead to him "working" for less than 2 years.  I retired him at that point and loved and cared for him through health issues until he died from cancer in September.  I feel I am ready for another service dog, this time having done research on which breed, temperament, and characteristics would fit.  I am asking for donations to go toward the purchase price of the puppy, transportation costs, and initial training supplies.   I would like to add that I have been searching for a service dog through existing organizations for several years. There is commonly a substantial wait list and a wait period of 3-5 years, sometimes more. I will use the same selection criteria as these organizations use, and the puppy I train will be temperament tested by a recognized third party. I am not looking for a pet to put a vest on. I have had my disability for the better part of a decade, and am intent on being independent of medications and people.
