Hi Everyone, recently we where given horrible news. My daughter was in need of hearing aids because she's deaf in her one ear. Words can not describe how heartbreaking this news was to not only my husband Ken & I, but for my baby girl Olivia.Here's how it all started. When Olivia was 2 she had tubes put in her ears because she was on antibiotics forever, so the ENT thought this was best. At 6yrs old at one of our visits to the pediatrician's I asked them to look in her ear to see if the tubes finally came out. Well, one did the other was almost out but the Dr. helped it out the rest of the way. Unfortunately, this is where it went down hill.Olivia was left with a hole in her ear drum. We saw a Specialist for her that recommended surgery to repair the hole. We went to Chop where Olivia at 6yrs old under went a surgery called a Tympanoplasty. They cut the length of her ear from behind to go in and try to patch the hole on the ear drum. Unfortunately, the hole didn't close. So the Dr. Recommended another surgery when she was 8. This one they just went through her ear and tried to patch the hole again. Again... Another failed surgery. This Dr. kept giving us high hopes and all we got was heart break. After 2 years of trying to search for answers, we where recommended by a Dr. at St. Christopher's Hospital for Children. We liked all the info he was telling us. High hopes for our baby girl Olivia again. Apparently, in all of this, Olivia only had about 40% of her hearing in her right ear because of the hole not being closed for so long. This March at 10 years old, Olivia under went her 3rd surgery. A Tympanoplasty, inner ear exploration and ear reconstruction. She had a metal ball bearing inserted also because she was missing a bone & they closed the hole. Bad news... Her ear rejected the surgery and now she has no hearing at all in her ear:-( So we just went to Audiologist & they want her to get hearing aids that cost $3500-$4500 & insurance doesn't cover it. We are at our wits end trying to find a way to pay for these for Olivia. We just want our baby to finally hear. So if you can find it in your heart to even give  just a few dollar donation so we can get her some hearing aids..Olivia, Ken & I would be forever Grateful. Xoxox
