WICSD - 6th Grade Outdoor Ed

The West Irondequoit Central School District's 2014-2015 Budget did not achieve the required 60% super majority, and the district is therefore operating under a contingency budget for the upcoming school year.  Sadly, all field trips, including Outdoor Education, had to be cut.  Outdoor Ed has been a long-standing tradition for 6th graders in WICSD.  For two days in June, students have the opportunity to participate in classes to enrich their environmental understanding and to use their classroom skills in an outdoor setting.  This wonderful field trip allows students to partake in fishing, archery, tie-dyeing, canoeing and much more, while working together with their classmates and teachers.  It's an unforgettable experience for our students and  our goal is to make sure the 6th grade class of 2015 gets the same opportunity as well.  The program costs about $20,000 to run and we are already half way there thanks to a very generous personal donation by Superintendent Jeff Crane.

No donation is too small to help enrich these students educational experience.
