PAWS for Aden

Aden is growing up with ADHD, Asperger's Syndrome and Type 1 diabetes. He is a patient at The Autism Treatment Center of Fort Worth since July 2012. His diabetes is very tough on him and his family. His insulin numbers go up and down erratically; even with constant carbohydrate/insulin ratio monitoring. Doctors have urged the family to obtain a service dog to assist with monitoring his diabetic symptoms as well as, acting as an aid calming him during when he is faced with Autism challenges.
We have made initial application for a service dog through Dreys Alert Dogs in Jasper, Texas ([email redacted]). However, the cost of the dog is well outside of financial reach of the family. We have reached our initial goal of $1000 for the deposit on Aden’s service dog. And in doing so, we have been given the opportunity to receive a puppy from a litter that was born July 28. However, in accepting this opportunity we are now challenged with raising the balance due of $19,000, sooner than anticipated. If we can raise this amount Aden could have his service dog by the time he returns to school in January, following the holiday break.
We are again humbling asking for donations to assist us in raising the monies needed. In addition to Aden’s GoFundMe account we are also developing other fund raising ideas and events. A tax ID is now available upon request for your contribution. And, if you prefer, you can make a tax deductible donation directly to Dreys in Aden’s name through their website.
Any donation amount will be welcomed. Aden, his parents, brother and sister greatly appreciate your assistance and consideration. Additional information and daily updates on Aden and the training process of the puppy will be available on the PAWS for Aden Facebook page.
