Stolen Gear & A Busted Window

Donation protected

Yesterday morning at 5:30AM I woke up in my friend's apartment in Portland, OR to a car alarm. At this point, having slept in my car for a month, I knew the sound of my car horn. I turn over and grabbed my keys to turn it off when it suddenly wasn't working.

My friend Andy came over to grab the keys, standing over me and looking out the window. He said kinda in disbelief, "DUDE. Someone's breaking into your car.."

We jolted down the apartment complex and rushed out the door. A woman was on a second or third trip to my car, removing equipement and instruments from a broken window, glass litering the ground inside and outside the car. We pushed her out of the way to secure the car until a man down the street shouted "YOU BETTER RUN," as he lifted his shirt, possibly threatening to draw a gun.

As we ran back up the apartment stairs, someone else came running down with a gun of his own, having heard what was going on and rushed down to help, but by then there was no one in sight.

Fixed up the window with some tape and trash bags to keep the steady rain that was falling from coming in any more, and after calling 911 and filing a report, started to take everything that was left into the apartment.

Checked what was missing and thought it wasn't too bad, but realized I couldnt find one of my most important backpacks with all of my microphones and cables which were essential for performing.

I live off of the money I get from gigs, and tips from busking and at coffee shops. The majority of the gigs require my own sound setup, and now I don't have the equpiment needed or the money to replace it yet.

Even if I can't replace anything, having enough to replace my micophone and cables will help me keep doing my job so I can eventually make the money back to buy back my equipment.

Really appreciate the help! (also if someone has a microphone they're willing to lend that would also help a lot)
