Phyllis' Medical Fund

I retired from being a full time bookkeeper July 2016. I had insurance at my place of work but had to get insurance through the ACA. I got insurance with a high deductable so I could afford my monthly payments and also because I had been pretty healthy. I now need help paying the deductable. Because I am now retired I am on a fixed monthly income.

I was diagnosed with breast cancer November 2016. I had 16 rounds of chemotherapy and I will have 33 rounds of radiation. I had a lumpectomy and 21 lymphnodes removed from under my arm.

The hospital is helping me by giving me 25% off my bills and I have a payment plan. I had a fund raiser in February that helped me raise some of the money I owe but I still have medical bills to pay. I have been paying my bills monthly out of my savings for a couple of months.

I have a great support group of friends that have helped me deal with my diagnosis on a daily basis. This includes bringing me food, paying to have someone clean my house, taking me to run errands and waving fees for acupuncture.

I do not expect people who have donated money to me in the past to give money now. I have had friends who do not live locally ask if there is a way to help me so this is why I am setting up this account.
