Hello, Im Shannon I am 36 years old, married for 12 years with 3 amazing kids. About a year and a half ago i was diagnosed with Melanoma (skin cancer) it quickly went to stage 4. My husband is disabled and is un able to work (dissability pending). 3 kids, the middle one is very ADHD with other un diagnosed medical problems. We are a simple family trying to make ends meet. I work as much as i can but we are just unable to stay above water.
We have a very stong emotional support team but none are able or willing to help with kids or with any funding. No school clothes, no school activities, no vehicle repairs, no home repairs, no date nights, no free babysitter for 5 minutes of alone time. We manage but i would like to know what it feels like to NOT struggle. To have to decide what bill to or not to pay, who will get new shoes this month, who will get to play a sport or will be in band.
I dont plan on dying any time soon but would like to keep the bright smiles on my kids faces. i would like to be able to give them everything they want. i want to spend TIME with them before things get bad. i dont want to worry about bills. i want to watch them play every sport, be in band and do all the things they want. The oldest wants to shoot on the archery team but we simply cant afford it. i want to take them on a vacation i want to show them the world before i cant any more. Family is a very important part of life.
I may not be able to take them to Disney world but a trip north to see the waterfalls or even a camping trip to silver lake to see the dunes. With all the traveling i did growing up the most memorable trips were the ones here in Michigan, seeing the beauty of where i grew up.
When i decided to start this Go Fund Me it asked how much i was asking for. I think that was the hardest part because you cant put a number on the bright smiles of our kids
Now that im done rambeling on, thank you for thoes who took the time to read just a few minutes into my thoughts.
