Lula's Surgery

My wife are I are newly weds, and Lula is our baby. I picked her up 1 month before I met my wife, and we have all been together since.
We had taken her to a friends house to run around in the back yard (like we have done hundreds of times) and when she was running through the wooded area, she impaled herself on a fallen tree branch. The branch was about 20-25 feet long, and it penetrated on the left side of her body just behind her left leg. The piece that penetrated was about as thick and a little longer than a railroad spike. The branch punctured her chest cavity, diaphragm, spleen, and damaged her abdominal wall. Surgery was required to clean out the wound and repair the puncture sites internally. Lula also lost her spleen. The doctors had to take it out as it was too damaged. She has a chest tube hooked up to suction to get any additional fluid and air out of her that shouldn't be there, and if everything goes well, will come off that in 24-48 hours. There is a possibility of her coming home on Monday, but the doctor is worried about her trying to get back to normal too quick.....anyone that has ever even met a boxer knows that sitting still and relaxing doesn't occur often. She will have the chest tube in for about a week, and will be able to have her stitches out hopefully in a couple of weeks.
Lula is like our child, having married so late in life. This is something that is very close to our hearts, and appreciate and thank you for your consideration.
