Hello my name is Rick Eckel. I am 29 years old. I have recently been diagnosed with Stage 4 Brain Cancer/ brain metastases. I have a total of close to twenty tumors in my brain, one is the size of a golf ball. Given my new condition and upcoming treatments of radiation, chemotherapy, and Gamma knife I have been put on permanent disability. I can no longer work and will have zero income until I can beat this terrible disease. I have begun taking action for state assistance and financial help, unfortunately the entire process can take five months for funding. This is all very new to me and I am in need of help to get through this transition and battle with Cancer. I have a great team of doctors working diligently to provide me with all treatments and necessary steps to overcome this disease. Any consideration to help me through this trying time would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

First off I want to say thank you for all of those people who helped me reach my original goal. Now we have another hurdle to overcome. I have a goal to create a non profit cookbook for people going through my similar situation. This is a huge goal that I am passionate about accomplishing. I feel very fortunate that I have been able to fight through treatment with no obvious side effects, but I know there are others who aren't, and it is my goal to make it easier on those people. So here it is, they require that I put a goal on here and thanks to you all I reached the first one, but what price can you really place on quality of life and doing what you can to help people? With that being said, why not get crazy and throw a $1,000,000 goal, help me create this nonprofit cookbook to inspire others in my situation to fight and pay it forward in whatever way they can. Let's tell this disease that it will not dictate our lives, that we are strong enough to overcome anything as long as we have optimism, love, and support. Thank you for those that have taken the time to read my thoughts, and let's rally together to do our part in curing this awful disease once and for all.
