Help me achieve my dream

Donation protected
Many of you know, and some of you don't, I set out to be a baker 5 years ago. I have been slowly making my dream come true. I started off by going to school, where I learned the basics. Due to unforeseen circumstances, I had to stop going to school to work full time to help my family. I have not gone back to school, but I have continued my education in the food industry more the old fashioned way.

When we moved to Texas from Missouri, I worked at a from scratch bakery. I tested new recipes, learned more, and was changing old recipes to try them out different ways. I was laid off from that job due to budget cuts in November.

Despite that, I continued my pursuit of my dream. Someone took a chance on me and ordered 3 cakes in November. It was a hit both with him and the owners of the company where Brian works. I have been consistently selling cakes while working other jobs since then.

In May, I picked up the rest of the restaurants. I was no longer working my grocery store baking job due to getting laid off, again. This never stopped me. By the end of May, I was selling cakes to 4 restaurants. The same cake (Gooey Butter).

After that, I continued doing what I had been doing when I could: testing recipes. I also have gone to a few other places to try what they have. I wanted my recipes to taste better and use the best recipes I could get my hands on.

In July, on our anniversary I spoke with a cafe next to a restaurant I will be selling gooey butter cake to, they needed something more than store bought desserts. I sent them some samples and they have had 4 orders. I couldn't use gooey butter cake as my go to, and I am glad to have my creative juices flowing with this new cafe.

I have one more restaurant coming. I will be doing what is now the company's signature dessert there along with one more. They recently opened so it might be a few weeks.

I have been able to turn a profit with only selling for less than a year. I see my dreams are coming true and I can continue with where I am, however, I have bigger dreams than just 5 restaurants and a cafe. By the way, this is in the Dallas/Fort Worth area, mainly close to Dallas. This is one of the toughest areas food-wise. I am just one person and I am ok with that, I want more though.

I am doing this Go Fund Me to raise money to help me grow. I need more kitchen equipment (another mixer, more sheet trays, more scoops, silpats, etc), I need to get a costco or SAMs card to be able to buy in bulk to keep my prices low and competitive, business cards, fliers, supplies to continue to test recipes, take cake decorating classes, the list goes on.

Brian helps me to keep my food cost down and my prices where they should but I haven't grown enough to keep up with this. So far, not counting the new restaurant, we are projecting I should make a $700/month profit for the rest of the year. This calculation is just based off how I have been selling to the original 4 restaurants and one cafe. I know it seems like maybe I could grow with this amount, however, we are down to one car and we live in an area where it isn't feasible for me to walk to a job so my baking is helping make ends meet.

Ultimately, the goal is to have my own storefront so I can sell more.

I am not asking this of one person, so any amount helps.
