IVF Cycle

According to the American Pregnancy Association, approximately 30% of couples struggling to have a child cannot get pregnant due to male-factor infertility; we are a representation of that 30%. My wife and I have been happily married for 11 years (going on 12), most of which were spent with a non-profit doing humanitarian aid work.


We absolutely adore children. As newlyweds, we planned to have a large brood of kids, both adopted and biological.  However, after trying unsuccessfully to have children for 6 years, we decided to get tested. What the doctors found surprised us; there was a small chance we could get pregnant naturally. That meant there was still a chance. We decided to keep trying and at the same time began to pursue an adoption from Ethiopia. The adoption had many delays and the process, which was supposed to last 18-24 months, went on for 4 years. We recently received word that the Ethiopian government has decided to permanently suspend all international adoptions, effective immediately. This means that we had lost all but $1,000 of the finances we had spent from our personal account and that we had raised. The combination of struggling through infertility and feeling the loss of a child for whom we had wept, thought about constantly and prayed for completely broke our hearts! We plan to attempt adoption again in the future but we feel that we should attempt something else first.


Our desire is to have children and due to the advancements in medical technology we can. We have already met with Dr. Alper and done another round of tests through Boston IVF Syracuse.

We know it is not possible (without a miracle) for us to conceive naturally, however, we are an optimal case for in-vitro fertilization. But we need your help! We have done everything in our power, emotions and finances to have children. Our insurance does not cover these treatments and to move forward with this plan we need $13,000. This will cover all medical expenses needed for the first round of IVF, nothing more.
