Life Saving Hope

With a heavy, broken, shattered heart we are devastated to say that our angel, our rock, our beautiful uncle is now in heaven watching over us.

My loving, kind, full of good uncle passed away last night after a year, six months & 8 days of fighting for his life.
We are in disbelief.. There are no words to explain how hard he fought every second to stay with us and the pain he endured.. Life is just not fair to take him from us so soon.

He is the definition of a saint and never left anyone to fight alone when they needed anything from medical attention to simple help in the garden.

During his work as a nurse, he saved and helped thousands of lives while working along side his strong amazing wife. As a husband, he was so loving, so patient and kind and the standards he set were so high that it taught all of us what true love was. As a father, he raised three smart, strong and beautiful kids that will carry his legacy for years to come. As a brother, he was always there for his siblings and taught all of my cousins, siblings and I how to be there for our siblings. As an uncle, he showed us what patience truly meant, no matter what we did or said. He made us the men and women we are today, and loved us so much that his love is the only thing keeping us going. As a friend, he was always by your side and made sure you knew it. My whole family and I are so lucky we had and still have his love in our hearts, we are so lucky we got to be loved by him, we are so lucky we got to learn from him, we are so lucky we are still loved by him.

He was and is still a great husband, father, brother, uncle and friend with a heart of gold. He left all of our hearts shattered, and there is no recovering from his loss and no words to describe it.

I know his beautiful full of peace smile will always be ingraved in our hearts.

Please share the link so everyone knows the kind man I grew up with and learned from.
The great, strong, angel that we all aspire to be. The whole world lost a man that truly was the definition of: “There are still good people out there”.

**********************************************

This is for my uncle. My sweet, loving, caring, full of life uncle Raghd.
He is the father of three beautiful children, the husband of a strong, selfless, amazing wife. He is also the little brother of my mom, aunt & 5 uncles.
My 21 cousins, siblings and I voted him as the BEST uncle every single year, and none of my other uncles (or even my mom) came close.

Here’s a little story that might explain who he was as an uncle better than my words can:
When I was 8, I got into a fight with my sister and cousin (his daughter) because they wanted to play outside together, and I was too young to tag along. That of course didn’t stop me, so I kept following them around and ruined every game they tried to set up or play because I felt left out. Obviously they had enough, and as they tried to push me out of the way to get inside, I made a big scene and they started crying out of frustration. It was definitely my fault, but my uncle didn’t get mad at me. Instead, he took me out for a car ride, bought me a YoYo, and got me a huge bag of snacks just for me. He always showed us love, care, and empathy even when we messed up or got into fights. He always tried to find solutions and didn’t believe in time outs or punishments, and he never judge us or let any of my cousins feel left out no matter what the situation was.

I can write a whole book about this man and all of the good, sacrifices, and miracles he’s made every day of his life. I wish I can find the right words to do him justice or to describe the sweetest, most selfless soul to exist on this earth.
As a nurse, he spent his whole life serving people and saving lives with the Red Cross, and he was on the front lines during Covid, trying to save everyone with the very few resources the hospital he worked at had.

Unfortunately, life has a funny way of showing gratitude.. Now he is the one who needs all the help he can get from all of you to save his life.
For the past year, he’s been fighting, struggling and suffering after a simple surgery went wrong. He’s now had five surgeries to repair the damage, heart complications and lost over 50% of his body weight BUT he’s still fighting because he knows our family needs him. We have done everything we can so far, found the best hospitals, surgeons, and prayed every minute for him to get better and to come back as strong as ever to us, to his family, friends & all of his loved ones.

To continue to do that, we need your help.

We have used up every penny we had, called in every favour with doctors we know around the world, took out every loan we could, sold everything we can to save up for a life saving surgery, but we still came out short.
When I say we used up every penny, I truly mean we did. We are a big family, and everything we had, everyone we know was still not enough.

Which is why we need your prayers, help and/or connections to medical professionals..
With tears, love & gratitude: Can you please help us give our uncle the best care he deserves?
For him to see that everything he’s done for everyone who crossed his path has paid off, because people from all around the world gave him a chance to fight.

Can you please help us save our uncle’s life?
