I believe in second chances. I believe in investing in others when they need it the most, not just when they've 'earned' it. I've been on the receiving end of others' generosity many times, and now I have the opportunity to 'pay it forward' in the life of a dear friend in need. I hope you'll consider partnering with me in this because together we can provide a second chance for a man and his family.
My friend is an alcoholic. He has struggled with his addiction for years, often alone. And now it has cost him his livelihood, his dignity, and his family. I want to see all three restored. My friend wants to be well, and he's willing to make a huge commitment, to submit himself to the wisdom and care of others so that the process of healing and the restoration of life can begin.
If you've been offered a second chance, had others invest in your life, and are looking for a chance to be generous, please consider joining me in this effort.
The funds in this campaign will be used for three things:
1. To bring him to Texas. He lives far from here, and there isn't the support structure necessary for his recovery there. His best chance for healing is here surrounded by friends.
2. To enroll him in a residential recovery program. The initial 6 weeks' costs must be covered up front. Once in the program, he will be expected to find work and pay his way through the remainder of the program.
3. To cover other expenses associated with his move and 'graduation' from the residential program. There will be other costs to get him settled here and provide a 'nest egg' for his eventual move out on his own and, hopefully, his return to his family.
