Ibrahim Conteh is a thirteen (13)year old child who is visually impaired and physically Challenged who lives in the Northern part of Sierra Leone, a village off Makeni.
His mother abandoned him with the father at an early age of five(5)when he was sick as he was not borne with disabilities. Throughout his life after after the abandonment by the mother, he had been taken cared by his father, added to his misfortune,he also lost his father and he's to be transferred to his grandmother who lives in another village by one of his relatives. The grandmother who can't afford to meet his needs neither able to take care of him because of her financial constraints, the boy always roam around the town in search of food for survival to other good neighbors in the village who usually helps him.
As you can see from the photos and videos, the only movement he makes is by CRAWLING with his bear hands, just imagine during this wet season.
I came in contact with this boy mid last year when I was doing a research on Rural Electrification Growth Project through UNOPS and BAOBA Research firm. I was amused for the rest of that day and I can't withstand to look at his conditions as tears ran my eyes.
After my days of work in the, I had an interview with one of the youth in the village who told me deeply about his situations and from then I promised to help with the little I can afford.
This year, with the little thing I have, I decided to buy him a WHEELCHAIR , clothing and other related materials.
I write this piece to look out for other PHILANTHROPISTS and HUMANITARIANS for help so that we can help bring positive impacts on this boy's life as me alone can't able to do so. This boy deserves a BETTER LIFE like any other child. Imagine about the life span of this child and the years he has spent in this condition.
I'm asking for HELP to whatever little thing you may have to help support this child, FOOD, ACCOMODATION AND HEALTH CONCERN are some of his major constraints and if at all in any condition, this boy most be taken to an ORPHANAGE HOME.
