Medical Expenses

Sadly, at the beginning of July, days after her 39th birthday Nora Poling was diagnosed with an aggressive form of breast cancer. Nora is one of the strongest and bravest people I know, a devoted daughter and sister, a loving and attentive mother, a passionate and dedicated teacher and a loyal friend. She has dealt with this devastating news with grace and strength, as only she could. The CaringBridge/GoFundMe profile photo is of Nora just a week after her diagnoses at our parents home in Oakland, CA. Despite the gravity of the situation and the anticipation of the months of treatment that lie ahead, Nora's light, warmth and humor shine through.

It is never easy to reach out to family and friends for financial support, however due to having to meet her insurance deductible in both the 2014 and the 2015 plan year and having her teaching salary reduced due to time away from school for treatment, we are asking those able, to consider making a donation to help Nora cover her significant medical expenses. Please know that any and all help offered to Nora is extremely appreciated, whether it be a financial contribution, a meal, a supportive email or helping out with her kids.
