Help Jim Beat Lung Cancer
Donation protected
Jim (James) proudly quit smoking on May 7, 2012. After a quick visit back to SC for the funeral of his grandfather, he realized he wasn't feeling well. After arriving back in California, Jim was struggling to breathe as he disembarked the plane.
In the emergency department they did a chest x-ray and CT scan to see that he is only breathing on one lung. His right lung was completely blocked with two tumors and pneumonia. Jim spent a week in the hospital receiving IV antibiotics to combat the pneumonia.
Jim was diagnosed with a rare, aggressive, inoperable Stage 3 large cell neuroendocrine carcinoma (LCNEC). The tumors are a total of 7.8 inches x 6 inches in size. Jim began his fight to beat this awful disease on November 10, 2019 when he endured his first cycle of aggressive chemo. He will have to receive 3 days of chemo every 21 days.
Jim will receive his next cycle on December 2, 2019. Another chest x-ray will be performed and if the tumor isn't responding as quickly, radiation will also be started in addition to the chemo.
Jim, unfortunately, lost his job due to the rigorous treatment regimen he is having to endure. I have created this campaign to help raise funds to pay for living expenses as well as travel expenses to and from treatment. The cancer center and multitude of doctors are in a neighboring town.
Jim may never have known he had cancer had he not flown home for an unfortunate circumstance. The pressure from flying caused his symptoms to flare. Thank you, all taking the time to read this and if you can find it in your heart to give, any amount will help!
God bless you all! Jim WILL beat this! #JimJamesStrong
