Love for the Astgen Family

Donation protected
At the end of June, after a month of persistent headaches, Tara went to see her doctor. She thought it might be the lingering effects of her epidural for Kierlyn's birth. During her appointment, a CT scan showed a large mass on her frontal lobe. Because of the size, the doctor had contacted Froedert to schedule an MRI that day. It was determined that day that Tara would need to undergo brain surgery to remove the mass.

With the fighting spirit she has, Tara's surgery went extremely well. She healed well at the hospital, so was sent home days earlier than anticipated. While keeping her grace and positive nature intact, Tara didn't complain once. She stayed strong so she could focus on her favorite role as mother. After waiting, Tara was told that she has an Astrocytoma. This type of cancer is incurable and it’s not a matter of if it comes back but when it comes back. It can come back whenever it wants to but statistically it returns between 9-12 months.

Her treatment will consist of chemotherapy in a pill form and radiation. This is a lot for this family to process. They have been nothing but positive and thankful.

This site is to provide an opportunity for people to donate to the Astgen family. Tara, her husband Brian, and their beautiful daughters Kinsley (18 months) and Kierlyn (2 months) appreciate all of the support, kind words and prayers they have been receiving. Tara has an incredible spirit and positive outlook. She will fight a good fight against this cancer. Go Tara!!
