Dear friends, family and well wishers,

My name is Pete, I have been travelling in and out of Kenya for over ten years now. I am a 31 year old youth worker currently living in a remote Australian Indigenous community called Yirrkala.

Pictured is my girlfriend Dorothy, who recently returned to her country Kenya, after living with me in Australia for 6 months. On returning home, Dorothy and her family learnt that her four year old niece Brianna / Bri (pictured with Dorothy), was born with a hole in her heart. If not surgically repaired, this will inevidably end Bri's life prematurely.

Very sadly, this is something that Dorothy and her family has already experienced. In 2011, another niece of Dorothy’s, Jacky, died at the age of 13 from the same condition.

Dorothy and her family need support to get Brianna healthy again.

We are trying to raise $4000 Australian dollars, approximately 280,000Ksh so that Brianna can have the operation she requires. This is a one off sum we need to raise for surgery at Aga Khan Hospital in Kisumu, Kenya.

All funds raised will be spent exclusively on Brianna's surgery and her associated medical expenses.

If you can spread the word between extended friends and family, we might just pull this off relatively quickly. We would like to raise as much money as we can within the next two - three weeks.

Dorothy and I will be sure to update everyone who makes a donation with photos and information before and after the operation happens. If we are initially unable to raise the amount needed, contributions will be kept safely in my account until we are able to make up the remaining.
