Hello everyone, My name is Jenny Humble and I am writing on behalf of the Torres family. As most of you know by now, we lost our beloved Pastor David on Tuesday evening due to complications with his surgery. This man of God is someone who we deeply mourn for. How can we say good bye to someone who has touched each one of us so significantly? He was our wonderful friend, teacher, mentor, pastor, husband, father, and son. We rejoice to know that he is no longer in pain and in the presence of his Heavenly father and earthly father but we still deeply hurt and miss him. I would like to ask, unabashedly, for your abundant help for Ana and the boys. We need to stand in the gap now in prayer and financial support for them. Ana and the boys need you now more than ever. We know how expensive funeral costs are and we know the medical procedures David went through over the years which led to adding financial costs. As you mourn, as you hurt, as you heal, do not forget the family that is here now. We are called to take care of them and love them, spiritually and tangibly in the darkest times. Please give financially whatever you can. Please pray for them. The Lord is our healer and provider. Amen.
1 Corinthians 12:22-25 22 In fact, some parts of the body that seem weakest and least important are actually the most necessary. 23 And the parts we regard as less honorable are those we clothe with the greatest care. So we carefully protect those parts that should not be seen, 24 while the more honorable parts do not require this special care. So God has put the body together such that extra honor and care are given to those parts that have less dignity. 25 This makes for harmony among the members, so that all the members care for each other. 26 If one part suffers, all the parts suffer with it, and if one part is honored, all the parts are glad.

3 He heals the brokenhearted
and binds up their wounds.
4 He determines the number of the stars
and calls them each by name.
5 Great is our Lord and mighty in power;
his understanding has no limit.

My name is David Torres, Senior Pastor of New Beginnings Church C&MA in the Chicago area. For some time now, I've been fighting an auto-immune disorder that has adversely affected my lungs and my brain. Aside from intense pain, these arterial malformations prevent proper blood flow to my organs and block oxygen from reaching my brain. Recently, the surgeons discovered that my aorta valve is also in high risk of rupturing. In essence, my body has continued to fight itself. We are confident that we have a miracle coming and continue to thank everyone for their prayers. I've been fortunate to have so many people praying for us. We've also been blessed with reknown surgeons from hospitals such as the Cleveland Clinic and Yale University that have agreed to take on this rare condition. On August 5 & 6, I will be undergoing a very delicate operation at Yale University Hospital to repair my aorta and to possibly stent as many of the arterial malformations as possible. My heart is overwhelmed with gratitude to all who in some way shape or form have extended their hand to us. Some people have asked how they can assist us financially. Although we do not expect anything more than prayer from everyone, we are indeed grateful for any financial support. As you can imagine, our medical bills are soaring higher and higher each month. The cost of the medications have exceeded what we can afford and the back and forth commute to these hospitals have truly presented a challenge for us. But more than anything, my hearts desire is to have my children present at Yale University Hospital in Conneticut, the day that I undergo this operation and then have them back home in time for their first day of school on August 12th. Ultimately, this is something I know God will make a way for and as I said previously, I can't thank each of you enough for the prayers. Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers in the days and weeks to come. If you feel in your heart to help my family through a financial contribution, you can do so through this secure site. You can be sure that every dollar received will go towards my current situation. But most importantly, keep praying for us.
