Guitars For Kids
Tax deductible
For over 15 years I've been doing this little project we call "Guitars For Kids". It is 100% about keeping young people involved in music-for their own benefit. I purchase a bunch of guitars every year and give them to young people. I use the stage at the Nor-East'r Music & Art Festival as our platform and to focus on young people in our more rural communities of Northern Michigan-But our giving is not limited by any boarders, income, interest or achievement. We find kids that we think will benefit from this offer. It is 100% a gift. We do not ask for the child's address or financial situation, family situation or school achievements. The kids apply for the guitar using a short form that gives us a bit of an idea of who the kids are and what they might do with the instrument. Its a very simple process. Its not exact science-just a heartfelt gift to see a young person benefit from an opportunity to play music on a guitar. I've seen first hand how a young person can benefit from having some type of musical outlet and a guitar seems to work for most.
Its a ton of work trying to keep a little program like this alive, but somehow its been going for over 15 years. Your generosity is greatly appreciated. Your donation IS TAX DEDUCTIBLE - Please, Give generously and I promise your donation will be used to purchase a guitar for a deserving young person.
Always feel free to contact me if you want any additional information. Thanks so much for your help!
