Carlos' Eagle Scout Project

After 10 years of being with the Boy Scouts, I am finally in a positon to earn my Eagle Scout Badge. The Eagle Project I have chosen is to build several raised garden planters for Centro Campesino.
Centro Campesino is a home for the elderly in Homestead, Florida. The elderly in this home often enjoy gardening, but many of them are physically impaired and can not complete their gardening without raised beds. These raised beds also encourage them to go outside and remain active.
I chose this project because many of the residents remind me of my great-grandparents, who came here as immigrants. Most of the elderly in the facility are primarily spanish-speaking, and are in need of care that their families can not provide.
