Nicole's battle with Ewing's Sarcoma

Donation protected

Our names are Val and Denise and we are here to tell a story about the most beautiful and brave woman we have ever known. Our sister Nicole is 35 years old and has recently found out that she is in the battle with a rare form of bone/tissue cancer called Ewing's Sarcoma. Ewing's Sarcoma is a childhood cancer that is only found in 1% of children and adults. Ewing's Sarcoma is a genetic family tumor with translocation between chromosomes 11 and 22 that result in the fusion of the EWS gene on the transcription factor gene FL1 on chromosome 11, leading to the production of a chimeric (fusion) protein. Our sister will start her treatments immediately due to ES being a very rapid growing cancer. Nicole will be between Cancer centers in Philadelphia and Sloan Kettering in New York City. After her chemotherapy port is in she will begin aggressive chemotherapy and radiation. Every 2 weeks she will be hospitilized for 3-5 days at a time for a year. They will then remove the tumor in her plevis/liver and begin chemotherapy and radiation again. As well as multiple PET scans and bone marrow biopsies.

Our family and I have decided to start a Go-Fund-Me for our beautiful sister to help support her during this troubling and crippling year she is about to face. Nicole is the loving mother of 3 beautiful babies Kyle (5) and twin girls Abigail and Isabella (3) and an amazing wife to her husband Erick. Due to her constant care her husband will have to begin a leave from work to travel back and forth from appointments and hospital stays. Our mother will need to take a leave of absence from work as well to help us with my nieces and nephews care 24-7. We are trying to keep their little lives remaining as routine as possible while their mother and father are away. Our family will be taking turns between Philadephia, New York, and New Jersey. Nicole will also lose her hair due to treatments and although bald is beautiful we would also like to be able to purchase her a beautiful prosthetic (wig). Through her medical bills, medications, travel cost, mortgage, personal bills and raising 3 children we will be struggling. We are in hopes to raise even just a small portion to help keep her spirits high and alleviate some of her financial stress during her battle. Postivity is key and we are keeping our spirits high because we all know attitude is the best medicine! Please say a prayer if that is all you are able to donate at this time that means more to us then anything!

Thank You!!
