Susan Peters: To me: A dear friend of mine who has helped me become the teacher I am today, my confidant, and my good-housekeeping seal of approval for anything remotely related to music/band/kids/parents/admin...etc.
To You: Your teacher, your mentor, your friend, your colleague, your child's band director, your child's inspiration, the reason you kept playing, the reason your child stayed in band, the reason you became a music major, the reason you went to state, the reason you joined a college band, the reason you joined DCI, the reason you became a teacher.
We all know how much Susan Peters has touched our lives. Whether you've known her for a small part of your life or a very large chunk, its time to pay it forward and give back just a portion of what she has given to you.
Please help me in funding this project for Ms. Susan Peters and giving her a head start to make it financially through the next few months of Band Camp and until school starts! After being dealt some unfortunate cards in China last year and literally 'falling on her face', she has recently taken a position as the Hoquiam Band Director where she is certain to reach more lives and spread the wonderful world of music education to those lucky kiddos!! However, until then, she needs our help! As you may know, teachers don't get paid until AFTER the first month of school - meaning - no monies until OCTOBER.
Help her year at Hoquiam get started with a bang by giving her a head start to make it to October.
