Kennedy Rose Mary Crist

Kennedy Rose Mary Crist was born 14 weeks early on March 23, 2014.  She was 2lbs 2oz and 14 inches long.  As with most preemies, she has had her share of setbacks.  On May 23 2014, Kennedy had trouble breathing.  She was immediately transferred by helicopter to the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.  Her loving parents, Katie and Arthur, along with Makenzie (her big sister) have been traveling back and forth from NJ to Philly to see her.  In the following weeks that passed, Kennedy was officially diagnosed with Chronic Lung Disease and was then scheduled for a Tracheotomy: a surgical procedure to create an opening through the neck into the trachea (windpipe).  The surgery went well, and Kennedy will soon be moved to a New Jersey hospital and then (finally) home to be with the rest of her family.  Since Kennedy will have a trach, it will be difficult for her to drink from a bottle so she will also have a feeding tube attached to her stomach.  Kennedy’s parents will have to take classes on how to care for her, and also hire a nurse to watch her over the next year.

We have decided to set up a fund to help with these expenses.

The Crist Family have been through a lot these past few months, and it seems that this road is far from over.

Any donation, whether big or small, will help tremendously.
