Urgent surgery - save Darroch's sight.

Hello and thank you for taking the time to read this request. Please be a part of the solution to my 12 year old's deteriorating eyesight due to a cornea condition called keratoconus.This affects the shape of his cornea causing distorted vision and ghost images, squiggles and lines,making it difficult for him to read and affecting his depth of perception. Keratoconus normally affects teenagers and progresses from stigmatism to mild, moderate then severe keratoconus which is conventionally treated by performing a cornea transplant. The surgeon hopes to halt or slow down the deterioration of both eyes by performing a procedure called crosslinking. This however is not covered by any medical scheme or insurance in Australia as it is still in the clinical phase. The urgency is due to the fact that Darroch's eyes are fast approaching the point where this procedure cannot be performed as it will no longer be effective.
