This is a letter from her daughters concerning their mother.
My name is Jessica Gravel, I am 24. My younger sister, Sarina, is 22. We have both attended Arizona State University. I graduated in December 2013. My sister will also complete her Bachelors there next spring.
Our mom was recently diagnosed with Stage 2A Colon Cancer in June at the age of 45. We took this news hard, knowing the impacts of cancer from our dads battle with Non‑Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL). We are staying positive and know that we are lucky to have caught it early.
Our mom has always been selfless. She has given up things so we don't have to go without. Those of you who know my mom already know what an amazing woman she is. For those of you who don't know her, my best example of my moms selflessness was when I got my first job at 15. I needed shoes for my new job as a hostess. My mom didn't have extra money, even while working two jobs. She had just bought herself a pair modest tennis shoes for her job. My mom returned the shoes she needed for work to buy me a pair. My mom wore her old worn out shoes so that I could have an expensive pair of flats. My mom would do anything for my sister and I. Now it is our turn to do anything for her.
We have decided to help our mom in any way we can. She has a lot of medical costs right now and we know this is stressing her out. We work and support ourselves, so we can only help financially so much. We appreciate any help you can give.
I know that together we can make a difference in her life.
Please find it in your heart to help her through this and Thank you in advance for your contribution.
