Help the Hansen's

Kira recently graduated from nursing school and obtained her RN and was so excited to get started in the field. Unfortunately, not long after she began her nursing career, she became very sick.

For over two months she has been out of work and fighting influenza A and mono, battling fevers of over 101 and 102 almost daily. In this time she has struggled with many other complications related to that, including liver concerns. And now, unfortunately, things have taken a turn for the worse. A recent emergency room visit for trouble breathing led to a hospitalization. At this time, they found that she had bilateral pneumonia, sepsis, influenza A again, and an enlarged spleen. On top of all of that, they are concerned about something going on with her heart and are also really concerned that her thymus gland is very enlarged and is showing some abnormalities. She is anxiously awaiting her follow up appointments with her cardiologist and oncologist to get to the bottom of what is going on - these appointments will be happening in the next week and we will share any updates received here.

It has been a very scary time for Kira and her husband, Andy, as well as family and friends, and we are asking for any donations that you may be able to give to help them with daily living expenses and medical costs.  Since Kira has not been able to work and is at risk of losing her job and Andy, too, has been taking time off work to take care of his wife, the last thing we want them to be worrying about at this time is how to pay the light bill or put food on the table.   

Those who know Kira know that she is always the first to  step up and do whatever it takes to help someone else, so that is why it is time for us to step in and do the same for her and Andy in whatever ways we can.  If you cannot donate, please send healing thoughts and prayers!  Thanks!
