William Alan Clements Memorial Fund

Dec 27th 2012 we gave our beautiful baby boy to the angels. That point in our lives was as bad as anything can get. Nobody deserves to lose a child, nobody deserves to bury their child it is not the natural order.

After the funeral expenses had been paid and we managed to make some sense of our life, it was time to start saving for his headstone at his final resting place. This is hard and this is where we need help. We have tried for over a year to save money but life gets in the way. Words can't describe how painful it is that he doesn't have a stone on his grave and we would like to ask for your support so our little boy can have what he deserves!

It doesnt have to be a huge amount of money but every little bit is greatly appreciated and means the absoloute world to us. If you could all share and help us we would be forever in your debt. If by chance we manage to go over our target all future donations will be presented to the hospital which looked after us and our baby to help them look after other babies and families which are born too soon.

A bit of History...
After trying for almost a year to get pregnant, we became successful but all was not well. After a turbulent 22 weeks of clots, bleeding and pain my waters broke. I was admitted to hospital with PPROM and told to prepare for the worst as the baby wasn't "Viable" and if labour was to start there was nothing they could do.

Things started to look up as nothing had happened, I was clear of infections and my stats looked good it was a case of resting and making sure he stayed put.

On 19th December 2012 William Alan Clements was born via emergency c-section as he had cord prolapse, weighing 1lb 4oz at 23+6 gestation but he was a fighter. Shortly after birth he was moved to a specialist hospital, The Jessops Wing in Sheffield which deal with severe premature babies. Again we were told to prepare for the worst that he was too small to survive. Again he proved the doctors wrong and we were to spend the following week by his incubator.

The next 7 days we sat by our beautiful warrior fight for his life, watching the doctors and nurses. He was a miracle. He brought our family closer than ever, we found strength in each other we never knew we had.

After 8 days of only what I can call the worst time of my life they came to us and told us that there was nothing they can do and it was time to say goodbye. They knew on Christmas Eve he wasn't going to make it but kept him going so it wouldnt ruin our Christmas. He left behind two brothers, a sister and a devastated family and friends network.
