Support Kristian's CAR T Cell Therapy Journey
Donation protected
As most of you know, Kristian was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia on June 11, 2024. Since that time, Kristian has undergone several chemotherapy treatments and 2 bouts of pancreatitis, one bout that required him to be airlifted and a 19-day stay at St. Louis Children's Hospital. During this time, he has had several weekly trips and overnight stays as well. Kristian finished his second phase of chemotherapy last week, and while we were so hopeful that the biopsy would show that he was cancer-free, that unfortunately was not the case. Kristian will now move on to receive a treatment called CAR T cell therapy.
This therapy is an attempt to use his own genetically modified cells to kill off the remaining cancer cells. It is a very involved process and will result in several trips to and from St. Louis while the cells are being created, as well as a 4-week stay in St. Louis once they are implanted.
Since June, Kristian's Dad, Mom, and Bonus Mom have been with him anytime he has had an appointment or inpatient stay. They have worked together to rotate stays to help alleviate anyone from missing too much work or handling other matters that still need tending to.
Unfortunately, learning of this additional time frame and extended stay has brought the need for some financial support as PTO is being exhausted, with some already having run out, creating additional financial hardships. His parent team will never not be by his side for any reason and are asking for some help in covering this next round of trips and stays.
We appreciate all the love, support, and prayers we have been receiving from everyone during this journey, and we ask that you continue to pray for Kristian through this next round.
