This is our sweet Mom, Betty. She's battling an aggressive cancer, and it sucks. First she had surgery, and now she is completing eight rounds of 3 day a week chemotherapy sessions. One of the chemotherapy drugs she takes causes bladder hemorrhaging. The specialty drug, Mesna, to help prevent this side effect has been prescribed. The pharmacy is quoting $686 for this drug needed for each chemotherapy session, because she is in the coverage gap (doughnut hole). Our parents are living on a fixed income and have exhausted all resources, trying to find assistance. In addition, there have been many other expenses due to her illness. Last week was particularly stressful because dad was hospitalized 3 days, and is still recovering. Our parents are very proud people and would never have dreamed of asking for help. They were the ones that always helped others. But, desperate times call for desperate measures. We are asking for your prayers and, if possible, financial assistance.
